U15 Greens Win NFA County Trophy

Blyth Spartans Juniors U15 Greens lifted the NFA County Trophy on 24th May, running out 4-3 winners against a very good Morpeth Town Juniors Eagles side at the new NFA headquarters, St Peters Hub in Wallsend.

Racing in to a 3-0 lead, Spartans made a very fast start to the game, however, Morpeth replied with two goals before half time to send the teams in at 3-2.

Spartans started the second half strongly and added a 4th goal to make it 4-2. Morpeth were not done yet and grabbed another goal with around 15 minutes of the game left. Spartans dug deep and kept Morpeth at bay to secure a famous 4-2 victory.

The victory completed what has been a very successful season for the team, where they finished runners up in their league, which should secure promotion for next season.
